Well, in a few hours I am going up a digit in binary. It won't happen again for another 32 years.
We spent the weekend celebrating! Starting yesterday after the car show, anyway. I refuse to count our now weekly trip to the car show as part of my birthday.
Elliott took it all in from the Ergo. I like this picture. It is harder than you imagine to take a picture of your kid when they are in the Ergo!
Here is a special car. All the car people were ogling it. I think it was one of only two ever made, or something. Yes, I still can't quite work up enthusiasm for cars, even with all this exposure.
Okay, enough of the boring stuff. That just happens to be what I had pictures of :). We also went to the farmer's market and had a lazy afternoon, then an early dinner with some new friends. These friends had a four year old boy and a two year old girl. While the grownups lingered over dinner... the kids played in the other room, happily, by themselves!!!! It was such a wonderful omen of what I hope our life will be like in about 18 months. They brought their dog so Finny had a friend too.
Then this morning, guess who napped for AN HOUR AND A HALF????? ELLIOTT! Yes, I tested the batteries in the baby monitor, he really was sleeping that entire time. I think we may have turned the corner on naps, but perhaps I'll save that for a later blog post. It's too early, I don't want to jinx it. Of course, it totally threw off any plans we had for the morning, but staying home was a small price to pay for this kid who had until the last few days never napped longer than 20 minutes unless I was holding him.
We let Nory stay in her jammies with a new (to her, we hid them for a few months) set of washable markers...
... so that I could enjoy "my" new present! I love it! So shiny! Ooooh! Aaaaaaah! Just think of the blog posts I can do now!
After the baby woke up from his nap (oh how I love the way that sounds!!) we headed to the dog park and home for a late lunch followed by Nory's nap, and Elliott napped AGAIN! For about 45 minutes! Ay Caramba!!! Two naps in one day!! Who is this baby?
Then we went for a walk at Juanita Bay park, got some take out Thai food and a cake from Hoffman's, went home and ate dinner and cake, and put the kids to bed. Then I went for a run, which by the way I do not recommend doing after Thai food and cake, but you have to take what you can get when you have two kids. And now I am blogging on our new computer.
What a wonderful birthday!
