In case any of you have doubted our previous gender fortune telling via Wisconsin Quarter flip, here is the proof that Wisconsin quarters do not lie! We had our ultrasound this morning and got to see our beautiful baby girl. It was a little ambitious to put the entire ultrasound video up on the blog, but it seemed easier than chopping it. So, bear with us, it is about 5 minutes long but well worth it. It takes about 10 seconds to get going. The doc did all kinds of measurements, starting with the brain and moving to the heart, spine, and other body parts. We'll let you guess which is which, we could barely follow along as he was naming pieces. The end result was that everything is in the right place, she's apparently a perfectly average size, weighed 10oz (how on earth do they weigh her?), and everything looks great, right on track for a delivery around May 17.
Things to look for in the video: A couple times he took these cool 3-d images (like the one posted above). Later, you can see a hand with all 5 of its fingers! Then he looks at the heart in technicolor red and blue. We had him double check that it was really a girl (I didn't believe it). She wiggles around a good deal during the video, just like the little fish we know she will grow into. Now I know who's been poking me all week!

A girl!!!! Congratulations!!!
awwwww! hooray! I'm so impressed your quarter worked!
I can't believe how much you can see! I can tell already that she's beautiful!
How exciting! Apparently things are still a little backwards here...in Tx. They told me that the earliest they could tell gender was the last week of December--but I'm still due before you-May 14!
And...since the sonogram tech is going on vacation for the holidays, our appointment to check/see anatomy and gender isn't until Jan. 5th!!
But congrats on your baby girl! Hope I get one too! But a boy will be just as good :) We'll try the Wisconsin quarter sometime this week, to find out.
love you!
