Yesterday Nory went in the shopping cart at Trader Joes for the first time. I know, I know, nothing much to be proud of, but it sure makes grocery shopping easier! Plus she loved it. I'd been waiting until she could really "sit," but it turns out that the little under-armpit strap works pretty good at keeping her upright. And she really enjoyed helping out by holding the pasta.
Also, it should be mentioned, Nory is now an ace roller. I can no longer put her down on her back without her immediately flipping onto her belly. She can flip left or right, but so far she is unable to flip back onto her back from her belly - which is sort of a problem since she pretty much still hates being on her belly. A new game we have started playing goes like this:
1) I put Nory down on her back on a blanket with a toy
2) Nory pretends to be playing with the toy long enough for me to think, Aha! I can go brush my teeth! (or move laundry! or empty the dishwasher!)
3) As soon as I leave the room Nory flips onto her belly
4) Nory spits up a pool of curdled milky goo, face plants in it, and starts screaming
5) I rush in, clean off the baby, throw the blanket in the laundry, get a new blanket out, and go back to step 1.

Oh my little niece-you've led a charmed life so far. (Am surprised Sue showed such restraint in her comment.) If this is the worst you've had to deal with so far all I can say is HAH!

Xaris is the opposite--she first rolled belly to back at the end of August, and by now, she's quite skilled at it. She has done back-to-belly ONLY for her babysitter (fortunately she got it on camera)...and ever since, she only goes halfway and decides she's quite comfortable there...and she lets us just go on using up the camera battery waiting for her to finally flip.
