Photos "borrowed" from grandpa :)
I finally weaned Elliott by sending him away for a week with Daddy to Wisconsin.
Where he was clearly miserable and neglected-
except exactly the opposite.
In the mornings when he woke up wanting to nurse, Grandma and Grandpa would swoop him up and take him to the street in front of their house- where they had arranged for Elliott to have his own personal Digger and Bulldozer show for the week!
(Their street was getting a new water pipe)
Then they would spend the day at the Zoo, Children's Museum, Hiking, or visiting local parks.
Daddy was "working" remotely but managed to join in on a few adventures too.
We've had a few rough moments reintroducing Elliott to Mommy Without Nursing, but after a rocky first couple of days he has mostly adapted.
Not that it keeps him from asking to "murse" a few times a day still - but he doesn't cry anymore when I say no!
Meanwhile... Nory and I had girl week! No fancy pictures here but plenty of fun. Nory loved the one-on-one attention. Mommy loved having a clean quiet house, although of course I missed my boys!
I cleaned out and rearranged all the toys and craft supplies.
Pink shoes because... why not?
Fish and mushrooms (two foods Dan hates) with almost every meal!
Driving Daddy's car to work. Wheee!
Painting and crafting without worrying about Bro-zilla attacks.
All in all I definitely recommend this weaning technique if you have a very attached nurser!

Oh so cute. Keep them coming! I love being involved in the life of the Klein's.
Glad it worked. That's how I weaned Moira too. Trip to San Diego followed by trip to Chicago. Worked well. I let her try to nurse in between, but without the milk, she was unimpressed. Glad you had a nice week. Looks relaxing.
