In case you were wondering (our movers are coming tomorrow and I'm still wondering a little bit) what could possibly get us to leave beautiful, sunny, and relatively warm Santa Barbara, here is a really interesting video explaining what Dan will be working on at his new job. The dude in the video is Nathan Myhrvold, who is the head of the Intellectual Ventures Research Lab. The lab does lots of stuff, but the project Dan will be working on (described in the video) is the humanitarian project (the video is about curing Malaria - Dan will be working initially on HIV).
Don't be fooled into thinking this video is too boring to watch - it is interesting, funny, and inspiring. I'm so proud of my brilliant inventor husband! If only we could all have such fun jobs!
Our schedule: tomorrow movers pack, Wednesday movers load (and we find out if K4 is boy or girl!), Thursday morning we are in the car to LAX and then flying up up and away to Madison, Wisconsin. We will spend a few days there and end up in Seattle on the 8th. I will try to put up a blog on Wednesday sharing our news of K4 but it will only happen if I can find internet.

Hey this was so cool! I totally forwarded it to my geek-minded friends who show something about smarts/invention & inspiration in their weekly all-hands meetings at Intel. So, you never say in your blogs.... where are you moving TO??
I'm hoping it's closer to me!!
