The Valleys of Los Osos

This past weekend we drove up to Los Osos (which is near Morro Bay) to visit one of Dan's best friends, Matt Valley, who was vacationing there for the week with his lovely wife and family.  We were so grateful that the Valleys let us infringe on the first couple days of their family vacation!

My Uncle Bill and Aunt Cindy own a fantastic little home in Los Osos, which is patiently enjoying weekend visits from them while it waits for their retirement.  They let us stay there for the weekend.  It happened to be less than 2 miles from where the Valleys were staying.  Perfect.

In the mornings we walked the dog in a little park near the house.  Nory rode in a (land bound) canoe which happened to have been left out just to take pictures of, from what I could tell.

We went on a nice hike on the bluffs in Montana de Oro State Park with Matt and Claire.  Nory did some hiking in the backpack,

And some being carried,

And lots of exploring on her own.

Which made for a very slow, but fun, hike.  The highlight was definitely the tide pools.

Or maybe the views.

It was so hard to head home at the end of the weekend.  Matt and Claire are about to embark on a three year adventure to Paris, so the next time we see them may be in France!
