But before that: a nana update.
Mom is doing better. She gets a little better and a little more mobile and independent every day. She is still at the same skilled nursing facility, the request to transfer her to the nicer one was rejected by the insurance company. But she has been moved into her own room and finally has some peace and quiet so things are much better now. She can actually sleep at night (her first roommate would only sleep with the TV on and with the door open) and as everyone knows, getting enough sleep makes a huge difference in your health, recovery, and attitude! My brother and his wife, Dan and Jen, changed their travel plans and were able to visit this past weekend between their two month vacation in Ecuador and their upcoming 5 month working stint in Alaska. Mom has a little more energy and strength every day, and her physical and occupational therapy level are increasing to match.I haven't updated my blog in a while - the main reason being that our computer was broken for a while, and the secondary reason being that I am SO TIRED all the time. But we have had a few minor but meaningful accomplishments lately which I thought were worth mentioning.
The first of which is: We had people over for dinner.
This is such a normal thing to do, but what with moving and being exhausted and busy all the time we haven't done much of it since we moved. However, we have really wonderful friends who came over to dinner and brought the dinner. They brought all of the makings for build-your-own-pizza night. I made a pie and contributed some spinach. It was heavenly. And I got to feel so... normal. Not pregnant, not unsettled from moving, not crazy busy with work, not fretting over my mom or toddler - just normal. Thanks for taking pictures, Paul.

The true centerpiece of the party. |
It also happened to be Finny's 5th birthday. Happy birthday Finny!
Another great thing that happened (although I managed to completely forget to document it in photos) is that we had a little baby shower for K4. It was so special to do something just for him! He has lots of cute clothes now and a super special baby quilt in the making. Washing a load of blue laundry was the perfect antidote to my pregnancy blues. We have such nice friends. One of whom left behind a container full of frosting. Score!
And a baby update: K4 is head down, "engaged" (which means low which means I am definitely waddling), and just waiting for the right moment to meet us. We have a plan more or less in place for taking care of Nory when I go into labor. I am a little over 36 weeks now so I expect to meet K4 in the next 2 to 4 weeks - exciting! I also just got my leave of absence approved from work to take off 6 months. I am looking forward to having more time with the kids before going back. 3 months with Nory was not enough!

And we are excited for you and also can't wait to meet the little guy! Will be thinking good thoughts for a quick and easy delivery. Love, Auntie J.
