Alaska Part 2: Carter Lake

On our second day in Alaska, both Dans, Nory, Omar (the dog), and I did a hike to Carter Lake outside of Moose Pass. I carried Nory in the Ergo this time, after discovering her extreme distaste for the hiking backpack during the Exit Glacier fiasco. It was a beautiful hike, we saw lots of birds and flowers. Here are some pictures from our hike.

It turns out, I'm a bit more careful crossing streams with a kid on my back!

Yellow Warbler

Yum, sesame sticks!

Back in town we went for a walk along the waterfront, where we saw this very cute otter, Harlequin Ducks, and stopped at the Iditarod sign. Seward used to be the start of the Iditarod until it didn't consistently get enough snow.
