Redlands in September can only be described by one word: hot. It was over 100 degrees last weekend when we rolled into town to spend a couple of days with my folks. Nevertheless, we had a wonderful visit, including but not limited to: forcing my parents into a photo shoot in the backyard (did I mention it was over 100 degrees?), visiting with family friends, taking Nory for a swim in Jan's pool (this was a very brief experience, since she started screaming her head off the moment her little toes touched the 70ish degree water, and yes, that's me laughing at her), and almost feeding Nory coolwhip (don't worry, I saved her). My mom preserved her reputation as my favorite chef by making me a brilliant birthday dinner of paella and carrot cake. Yum! Here are some photos from our weekend.
