Christmas with the Outlaws

This year we had Christmas with my Out-laws (My in-laws who prefer to be outdoors all the time). Dan's brother, parents, aunt, uncle, and cousin all were in town. It has been very busy but very fun! The weather was a little cold and rainy for the first couple days but has since turned around into prime beach hiking/photo taking/dog walking sunshine. I also managed TWO above average Christmas meals - cinnamon rolls and a turkey dinner with mashed potatoes, cornbread stuffing, gravy, homemade bread, cranberries, salad, and pie! I had some help but did I mention it has been busy? I don't have my mother's natural talent for feeding people, but as they say practice makes perfect.

Above is a photo of Dan and his Dad taking pictures at Morro Bay (see any father-son similarities?). Our Christmas present from Dan's parents is that gigantic white lens attached to the tripod. Dan assures me that it will come in handy for taking photos of the baby, too - the only problem is that it is such a big zoom lens that Dan will have to run down the street in order to be far enough away to photograph the kid!

We also got lots of fun baby clothes for Christmas, but nothing quite as unique as the world's cutest baby booties, shown below in the photo. These were handmade by a lady in Darrington and given to us by the Schillhammers via Lindy. I can't wait until we have some little feet in the house to wear them!

And now... the Klein family Christmas continues through New Years! Dan's brother, aunt, uncle, and cousin have left, and this afternoon we will be joined by another of his aunts. Dan and I are both battling colds, so we hope our ability to host will not be impaired. We also hope our spoiled dog will not get too used to spending all day every day on walks! We can already tell he is trying to figure out how to pack himself into those big suitcases and get taken back to Wisconsin as a stowaway.

I'll put up another post when Dan publishes some of his amazing photos. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

So... I need details. On the lens of course. Please tell me you have a Canon so I can take a few coveted shots with it the next time we visit!!!???!!! I'll take you out to dinner if you give me 30 minutes with your lens :D

Hi Andy! I can't give you too many lens details (not really my thing). However, I do have the lens in front of me and this is what it says:

"CANON ZOOM LENS EF 100-400mm 1:4.5-5.6 L IS ULTRASONIC"

I seriously doubt the ultrasonic part, I've had two ultrasounds done for the baby and the machine didn't look anything like our new lens.
