(No, I didn't forget to blog about our amazing vacation... just haven't sorted through the pictures yet.)
On Valentines Eve I came home from work to a very cold house. Apparently our heater had stopped working around 3pm. So this morning when we woke up, it was pretty chilly inside.
The earliest repair appointment wasn't until noon today so the kids and I spent the morning freezing indoors. Between our little space heater and one I borrowed from the neighbors, I managed to keep the kids' rooms warm enough to nap, but the rest of the house was cold. C.O.L.D.
Nory stayed in her pajamas until nap time today. Perfect weather for snuggling under a blanket with Baby Madison.
The repair man came but apparently our 20 year old furnace has bit the bullet. We had to buy a new one, which won't be installed until tomorrow. But, please, I have two very cold kids under age 3, isn't there anything you can do sooner? (Nope.)
Luckily Valentines Day offered the perfect excuse to keep the oven on all day long!
Apple Pie
Bread
Granola
Elliott got a new tooth today (#7) and in celebration of this accomplishment he was very grumpy. I held him pretty much all day long. Which made decorating for my favorite holiday difficult, although not impossible. Nory loves a good craft and heart glueing and hanging was no exception.
Here she is all dressed up in her special Valentines shirt from Nana.
And here we are finally enjoying our Saint Valentines feast. Sort of bad planning on my part since there was a giant paper "I LOVE YOU" hanging between Dan and I, blocking our line of site. I guess there are worse words that could come between you and your spouse.
All in all, the day could have been much worse considering the freezing house, the crankiness of the kids, the napless Nory, and the travel colds we are all bogged down with. But in the end it turned out to have several lovely Valentine moments.
Happy Valentines Day to you!

Happy Valentines Kleins. P.S. Judy you may need a physics review; 59 degrees is not freezing
