Here is a cool photo that Dan took yesterday evening right before sunset. The lighting at Ellwood was just right for silhouettes. After he took it, I looked at the preview and said, "wait, let me stand up straight!" And then he took another one... exactly the same. I guess that arch in my back is permanent. This picture makes me think I'm actually carrying a baby bowling ball instead of a little person.
One more thing - a side note about thank-yous. I have never minded writing thank-you cards before. I love letting people know that we love them and appreciate their kindness! But somehow, with the baby gifts, I've been very slow at writing thank-yous. I even considered making the baby write them, but realize that most people don't want to wait 6 years to get a thank-you note (this, however, would still be sooner than if I made Dan write them). Part of what has made me slow is that I cannot find a comfortable position to write in, and after writing a couple of thank-you notes I'm inevitably too sore to continue. Anyway, three cheers for me, this weekend I actually caught up on writing my thank-you notes! But before you run to your mailbox in eager anticipation... I have yet to seal or address any of them. Because, you see, that part isn't nearly as fun or interesting as writing the notes... perhaps a goal for next weekend! But be encouraged that you have a very nice thank-you note, sitting in a basket collecting dust at my house.
