We are in the trenches of a really nasty stomach bug around here. I got back on Monday night from a wonderful trip to Chicago (more on that later, if I ever get out of bed again). Tuesday night Nory threw up several times including twice in her carseat on the way home from my prenatal checkup as well as in bed. Yuck yuck yuck super yuck. Being the feisty thing that she is, by the next morning her good spirits had returned. I kept her home the next day while I worked, which involved several Netflix streaming Sid the science guy episodes, lots of music, and an entire stack of heart shaped pink post-its. There are now heart post-its covering most of my floor, walls, and windows in the dining/living room space.
Today the nasty bug struck mommy. I left work early and got lost going home because I was so out of it. But I made it home eventually and have spent the afternoon feeling like death in bed with a few exceptions of getting up to vomit. Yuck yuck yuck super yuck. At least my aim is better. Dan, bless him, picked up Nory from daycare, fed her, bathed her, and is putting her to bed right on time! I am so thankful to have him and for us not getting this bug simultaneously.
Dan told Nory I was sick in bed. She brought me her blanket and a toy car and tucked me in. It is amazing to see compassion in someone so small! It made me smile, which is saying a lot under the circumstances. Hopefully I will bounce back as quickly as she did, and the bug will skip Dan altogether!

we recommend grandma's trick of running a warm bath of chicken soup - eases sore muscles and, if you get hungry, just cup your hands and drink up.
